Problem
Most AI resume tools either drown applicants in generic fluff or invent experience that falls apart in interviews. Job seekers need something that maps their real work to a specific posting, calls out honest gaps, and still produces a resume they can send with confidence.
Approach
- Keep the resume on-device in browser storage so people can reuse it across roles without creating an account
- Accept jobs via paste, typed requirements, or screenshot OCR
- Reject non-job input (resume dumps, cover letters, unrelated text) with clear feedback
- Run local extract/match/fit for speed and reliability, then one focused AI tailor step for stronger wording from real evidence
- Offer Preserve layout vs Optimize layout modes, then export PDF and DOCX
- Never invent skills, years, or credentials that are not supported by the uploaded resume
Outcome
A live product at fitline-alpha.vercel.app with a paced analysis flow, honest fit reporting, and downloadable tailored resumes. Built as proof that I can ship a full product loop: UX, privacy-minded storage, AI-assisted planning, and document export.
